So let’s keep this topic going! We are going to continue to talk about the customer today. These are just basics, I know. But sometimes we all have to get back to the basics in order to truly get our business off of the ground or take it to the next level. Simple is truly where it’s at. So let’s keep it simple. Today let’s answer the question: how do you connect with your customer?
Now, when I’m talking about connection, I’m talking about having them see you as an expert. I’m referring to how through your interaction with them, they realize you truly can help them with the issue they are having. You connect and you build trust. So how do you do that?
There are a few key elements but the first one I always recommend is to be humble and be yourself. Don’t be pompous or stuffy. Don’t be overly professional, especially in a Facebook group. No one needs a “know it all” or someone who has all of the answers. Just be human and supportive.
Remember, people don’t want to understand, they want to be understood. Instead of selling your product, meaning-making them understand why you can solve their problem. Instead, make them feel understood. Listen to them. Support them. Provide answers to their questions. Naturally, have them start to see you as the expert. Because you are.
Last but not least, speak their language. As you have joined this group, you have learned their pain points. You have learned how they speak about their problem and the issues they have as a result. When you are interacting with them, use the same language. Abbreviations, common terms, common words, and emojis, all of this will again, make them feel heard.
This is how you connect. Listen and give.
Be Legendary!
