Today we are going to focus on the next most commonly asked question when women are trying to step out of the corporate world into the entrepreneur world: How do I get my spouse on board?
What a great question! Seriously. That’s another fear that many of us face.
Ultimately, you have to believe in what you are doing. If you aren’t certain this is what you need to do, if you don’t believe this is your path, no one else is going to believe it either. Not your spouse, your best friend, your mom, no one.
So, first and foremost you need to believe.
Second, you need to go and tell your spouse this is what you want, why you want it, what it means, how you think you want to do it, etc. You have to be ready to tell your spouse what you are going to change and why it matters to you.
You don’t need to ask for permission. Don’t set yourself up, saying “I’m going to ask my spouse.” NO! You are going to “talk WITH” your spouse. Big difference. You are a grown woman. You don’t need permission. You need a partner in this process. So talk to this person like a partner, not a parent.
Mindset is everything, remember. So go in confident, certain this is your path. You don’t have to be certain as to HOW you are going to do it all. But you do need to be certain this is your path and be certain as to WHY that’s the case.
