Happy Thanksgiving to those of you in the US. I hope that you are prepared to have a great day, no matter what you have on your agenda. My question for you today is: what are you thankful for?
You know, we could spend today feeling frustrated. Frustrated that we can’t be with our families. Frustrated that we can’t do our traditional midnight shopping or Black Friday routine. Maybe not just frustrated, maybe heartbroken that we can’t be with loved ones. Either due to travel, COVID, or maybe you had someone close to you pass away since the last Thanksgiving and this is the first one you will have without them.
I can say this is the first Thanksgiving I am celebrating without my grandmother. I was very close to her, even named after her. So, I can relate if you are going through something similar.
The point though is we can sit and we can feel sorry for ourselves. Or, we can look around us and purposefully CHOOSE to find things we are grateful for. I am grateful I woke up this morning. I’m grateful I have the luxury of spending time recording this episode for you and making your day a bit better. I’m grateful my kids are healthy and my parents are doing well. I’m grateful that I get to cook a Thanksgiving meal, knowing that so many other people in this world wake up each day without food.
We can be thankful for the simplest things, and we can be thankful for the most extravagant things. But today, no matter how big or small, we need to be thankful.
Now, try this one on for size. How about being thankful for the gift you have, that you are working diligently to share with the rest of the world? The gift of either service you can provide directly or the gift of creativity, imagination, problem-solving, and the like that are helping you be successful in your day job and your personal business. Let’s be grateful for that. Because that gift is going to continue to allow you to live the life you deserve, your Legendary Life. It is going to continue to generate such goodness in your life that you can’t help but be thankful for it.
So again, today. It may be easier to wish you had something different, could be somewhere different, with someone different, but let’s focus on what we do have and what we do appreciate.
I appreciate each of you. Happy Thanksgiving.
Be Legendary!
