Are you scrapping your resolution already? It happens. We have the best of intentions but we don’t ground ourselves in the process to help us build a true habit. That’s where most people fail. They focus on the “resolution” or the end result, but they don’t focus on HOW they will deliver on that result.
For example, I will work out 5 days a week. I love that resolution. But how are you going to do that? If you don’t set your clock earlier in the mornings, get your workout clothes ready, pick out a routine to do as your exercise routine, etc. then it’s not going to happen. Just like running your business, success is as much in the planning as it is in the execution.
So, let’s talk about 5 steps to success for a second. I got these from Tony Robbins. Ask specifically. You are trying to accomplish an end result, what is it? When do you need it by? What does it look like? Define it clearly.
Ask someone who can help you. Find a coach, a mentor, etc. Whatever you are trying to achieve, someone else has already done it. Find them and figure out what they did right.
Create value for the person you are asking. You are asking someone to help you with your needs, create value back for them in return. Be it extra money, a testimonial, other referrals, or sharing your gift that they can benefit from.
Ask with focused belief. If you really don’t want to get in shape, for example, no one is going to be able to help you. You have to ask for it within yourself and you have to want it.
Ask until you get what you want. Adapt, adjust, and change until you arrive. Don’t give up.
Now, this can be applied to any part of your life. Personal, professional, corporate world, personal business. It’s all the same. If you can deliver on these 5 steps, you will achieve your ultimate outcome. Because this is a plan. When you created your resolutions, you didn’t have a plan. So if you are still wanting the results you would achieve from your resolution, then start applying these 5 steps and let’s get on track.
Be Legendary!
